In this video, I show you how to make a simple centerpiece for a table. The great thing about this centerpiece is that it was made out of firewood. I took a couple logs and cut them into 3/4″ slices. I used a 1-5/8″ forstner bit to drill the holes for the candles. Then its just a matter of gluing them together how ever you want. I decided not to put a finish on this and leave it natural. If you do put a finish on it, be careful as some finishes are flammable. Enjoy!!

I finally got around to making some acoustic iPhone amplifiers. When I posted my how to video on making them, I got a lot of people in the comments wanting to buy one. Check out my Etsy shop if you are interested in buying one. Also, if you want me to make you a custom one, send me an email: email@example.com and I will see what I can do.
Here is the video on how I made them and a sound test:
Making entryway hooks is a simple and easy project. I hated having a clutter of stuff right by our front door. It didn’t help that my 17 month old daughter liked to go though everything, purses, backpacks, etc. So I came up with a simple solution…a board with some hooks on it. Genius right? Well I did add a little bit of style to the board to match our decor.
You can get really creative with this. There are may different styles of hooks to choose from. The nice thing is you don’t have to have a lot of tools, just a screw driver, really. See at the big box stores, they will cut the wood to your desired length for free. Then bring it home and get creative with it. When it comes time to attach the hooks, all you have to do is screw in the screws with your screw driver. Wow that was a lot of screws….err never mind, haha.
Watch the video so see how I made my Entryway Hooks.

Don’t you just hate those cheap plastic frames that come on mirrors? Well I do, so I decided to make a better one. My wife acquired a floor mirror and the plastic frame was falling off the mirror. I had a simple idea to take some 1″x3″ pine and make a better frame.
I purchased two 1″x3″x12′ pine boards for this project. All other materials and supplies you see in the video I already had.
It feels good to be making videos again. This time it was something simple. My garage is a mess, so I went with the plan B for my daughters dresser. This project is really easy and fun. You can get your kids involved and show them how things go together.
Yes I know its been quite around here, but I have something to share:
I came across this Acoustic iPhone Amplifier on Pinterest and had to make one. The awesome part is, no power required, just 4 pieces of wood glued together. I was surprised on how well it amplified the sound. I did this all for free. This would be great to use outside, camping, etc. Also you can adapt this to any phone, just change the measurements for the phone slot.
